The New Geolinguists (2020) 34:55 mins, sound composition

The New Geolinguists was commissioned by Soundart Radio for their Tomorrow’s Transmissions project.
The New Geolinguists (an idea borrowed from Ursula Le Guin’s 1974 short story The Author of the Acacia Seeds) imagines that during the coronavirus pandemic, while usual lives were paused, our worldwide collective experience sparked a gift for hyper-communication. We now use all in our means to listen and hear ourselves and others – both human and non-human – engaging our senses in a remembering of the value of care.
With the voice of Silvia Federici.
Extract from Ursula Le Guin’s The Author of the Acacia Seeds read by Gwena Harman.
With thanks and gratitude to Annemarie Bala, Ariane Delaunois, Chiara Muzzi, Frida Fanninger, Linan Zhang and Tuulikki Bartosik.
