Inner Quarry is a 3-screen digital video + audio installation (dur. 6 mins, looped) shown at Berry Head NNR visitor centre. Still images are from The John Holden Collection, courtesy of Brixham Heritage Museum. Thanks to Dr Chris Proctor for the initial visit to the Inner Quarry and for his shared specialist knowledge. Thanks also to the Berry Head volunteer rangers, especially Ronan whose knowledge of limestone habitats informed this work. And special thanks to Valda Smith, Head Ranger, for helping with plant identification and for allowing access to the Inner Quarry during the making of this work.
Inner Quarry was developed during a 3-month residency at Berry Head National Nature Reserve, Brixham for over the horizon, a project initiated and produced by Smooth Space in partnership with Torbay Coast and Countryside Trust and English Riviera Global Geopark Organisation, and supported by Arts Council England.
